May is Pet Cancer Awareness Month!

In honor of Pet Cancer Awareness Month ask about the specials being offered at Pleasant Hill Animal Hospital in Oregon.

At PHAH, we like all our pet owners to be aware of the facts. It’s a fact that cancer is the #1 cause of mortality in older animals.

Here are 10 signs to watch out for between your regular veterinary visits. (according to this article by Dr. Phil Zeltzman)

1. Abnormal swellings that persist or continue to grow

2. Sores that do not heal

3. Weight loss

4. Loss of appetite

5. Difficulty eating or swallowing

6. Bleeding or discharge from any body opening

7. Offensive odor

8. Reluctance to exercise or loss of stamina

9. Persistent lameness or stiffness

10. Difficulty breathing, urinating or defecating

To schedule a wellness check for your animal, please contact Pleasant Hill Animal Hospital at (541) 747-5878.
